The ELLIS Unit Jena is looking for a scientific coordinator with a strong interest in the development of interdisciplinary research networks, their coordination and corresponding public relations. Job advertisement: English, German.

The ELLIS Unit Jena is supported by two research institutions (Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry and DLR Institute for Data Science) and the Friedrich Schiller University Jena with the Michael Stifel Center Jena and works at the interface between climate/environmental sciences and machine learning with a focus on scientific knowledge integration and knowledge generation using machine learning approaches. In the collaboration of the different institutions, the unit will contribute to the use of artificial intelligence to solve relevant socio-ecological challenges such as climate and biodiversity crises.

The workplace of the successful candidate will be located at the Michael Stifel Center Jena for Data-Driven and Simulation Science. The person will work with the directorate of the ELLIS Unit (Prof. Joachim Denzler, Computer Vision Group of the University of Jena and Prof. Markus Reichstein, Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry).
