On 01.12.2021, the Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the Ilmenau University of Technology start a 4-year joint project that constitutes an important element in the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) competencies in Thuringia. The project – “THInKI – Thüringer Hochschulinitiative für KI im Studium” – is coordinated by the Thuringian Center for Learning Systems and Robotics (TZLR) as a joint institution of both universities.
The goal of the project is to develop comprehensive offers and content for education in the field of AI for various disciplines at the two universities. Materials will be published online and openly available for re-use. In addition, a certificate program will be established that provides undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines with the opportunity to gain knowledge in the field of AI. The project will be accompanied by research to evaluate its acceptance by the interested parties and against the background of a contemporary understanding of education.
