In the winter semester 2021/2022, the first stage of the DaLiJe (Data Literacy Jena) certificate program will start at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. As part of the certificate program, students from all disciplines will have the opportunity to acquire skills in dealing with data, from general basics to subject-specific methods. No special previous knowledge is required, all students of the Friedrich Schiller University can participate.

The first stage, “Awareness”, is intended to provide an overview of basic aspects of data handling and includes an interdisciplinary lecture series as well as an associated online self-study course. Within the framework of the DaLiJe lecture series, experts from various disciplines and fields of work present special aspects of working with data from a practice-oriented perspective in interesting and generally understandable lectures. In the thematically coordinated online course, students are introduced to the various competency fields of data literacy and can gain initial experience with basic techniques in practical exercises.
